Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026 · Applies to the Karaoke Pro Android app, its phone remote and karaoke-pro.online.
Karaoke Pro uses YouTube API Services. By using Karaoke Pro you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google handles data it receives under the Google Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
Karaoke Pro ("we", "us") is a karaoke app for Android phones, tablets and Android TV, with a website at karaoke-pro.online. This policy explains what information we access, collect, store, use and share, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us via our Contact section.
2. YouTube API Services
Karaoke Pro uses YouTube API Services to let you search for karaoke videos and play them:
- Search: the words you type are sent to YouTube through the YouTube Data API to get matching videos.
- Playback: videos play in YouTube's official embedded player. Karaoke Pro does not download videos, remove ads or change how YouTube plays them.
- Video details: we receive public video information such as the video ID, title, channel name, thumbnail and length.
When you use these features, YouTube and Google receive information directly from your device, as described in the Google Privacy Policy. Your use of YouTube content is governed by the YouTube Terms of Service.
3. Information we access and collect
Information you give us
- Account details for your subscription, such as your login (email or username), your plan and its end date.
- A display name you choose when joining a karaoke session, shown to other people in that session.
- Messages you send us for support.
Information created when you use the app
- Song queue and reservations: video ID, title, thumbnail, channel, queue position, reservation time and status (Playing, Reserved, Completed, Cancelled).
- Karaoke session data: the session code, which devices joined, their role (Host, Singer or Remote), playback status and volume.
- Favorites, recently played songs and settings.
- A random app identifier from Firebase Authentication, used to connect phones to a session. It is not linked to your Google or YouTube account.
- Technical information needed to run the service, such as the app version (for update checks), device type and IP address, processed by Google Firebase when your device connects.
Information we do not collect
- We do not ask you to sign in to your YouTube or Google account to sing, and we do not access your YouTube account, playlists, subscriptions or watch history.
- Videoke MIDI, KAR and SoundFont files stay on your device. We do not upload them.
- We do not collect your contacts, photos, microphone recordings or precise location.
4. How we use information
- To search YouTube and play karaoke videos.
- To run your song queue and keep it in sync between the TV and phones in the same session.
- To check your subscription and give you access to your plan.
- To tell you about app updates and answer support requests.
- To keep the service secure and stop misuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
5. How information is shared
- YouTube and Google: search words and video requests go to YouTube API Services, as explained in section 2.
- Google Firebase: stores session, queue and account data for us on Google Cloud servers. Firebase acts as our service provider.
- People in your karaoke session: can see your display name and the songs you reserve.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.
6. Third-party content and advertising
Karaoke Pro shows content from YouTube, a third party. YouTube may show advertisements in or around videos. These ads are served by YouTube and Google, not by us, and are governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Karaoke Pro does not show its own advertising.
7. Cookies and storage on your device
- The app stores your queue, favorites, history, settings and a session identifier on your device so they survive restarts.
- YouTube's embedded player may place, read or recognise cookies or similar technology on your device or browser, under Google's policies.
- Our website uses your browser's local storage to remember page content and announcements you have already closed. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you use the phone remote in a browser, it stores a session identifier the same way.
8. How long we keep information
- YouTube data (video IDs, titles, thumbnails, channel names and search results) is kept only as long as needed for your queue, favorites and history. Data stored from YouTube API Services is refreshed or deleted at least every 30 days.
- Karaoke session data is deleted when the host ends the session, or within 30 days.
- Account and subscription data is kept while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days after it is closed, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
- On-device data stays until you clear it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.
9. Your choices and deleting your data
- Clear your favorites and recently played songs in the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything stored on your device.
- Ask us to see, correct or delete your information by contacting us via our Contact section. When you ask us to delete data, we delete it as soon as possible and within 7 days.
- In addition to our normal deletion process, if you have ever connected a Google account to Karaoke Pro, you can revoke its access at any time on the Google security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. After access is revoked, we delete related data within 30 days.
10. Children
Karaoke Pro is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on Google Firebase, which protects it with access rules. Only our authorised staff can reach account data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or on our website.
13. Contact us
Send questions or complaints about privacy via our Contact section. We aim to reply within 7 days.
